Hello--I'm Angela Kolls, a wife, mom...and also a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher and owner of Waves of Zen Healing Arts in Durham, North Carolina!
I'm originally from southern California, where I received my BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine. In the summer of 2001, my family and I moved to North Carolina for my husband's medical residency--and we have happily called Durham home ever since.
My husband and and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last year, and have 5 children together, ranging in age from 30 to 15. I am a member of the Duke Campus Club and co-editor of the Club newsletter. When not spending time with my family, I enjoy traveling, photography, crafting, and decorating.
I spent much of my career in administration, primarily as an administrative assistant, and later as a magazine publisher’s assistant. When the magazine I was working for published its final issue in 2020, I decide to take my career in a different different direction. Little did I realize at the time, I was also about to set a course on a new and exciting life path!
Under the study of Deborah Dixon of Subtle Wellness, I received my first and second degree Reiki certifications from the Duke Integrative Medicine Center. As my passion for this new adventure grew, I continued my Reiki studies, and eventually became a certified Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher.
Seeing the benefits of Reiki actualized in my own health and my family's, I felt called to share with others all Reiki has to offer. I currently see Reiki clients by appointment in my private office in Durham, at the Wellspring East office in Chapel Hill, and at Get Grounded Counseling in Cary.
